Clean Bench
Start by sanding down the surface.
Clean bench. Being a natural material maintaining and cleaning a wood bench is a regular task. The clean bench was originally created to supplement clean room technology and today is used across a broad spectrum of industries including research manufacturing aerospace bioscience pharmaceutical production and food processing. Clean benches are available with horizontal laminar flow or with vertical laminar flow. Once the surface has been stripped back clean and replenish the surface with oil or wax.
Both provide a hepa filtered environment that protects the sample from airborne contamination. A laminar flow cabinet or tissue culture hood is a carefully enclosed bench designed to prevent contamination of semiconductor wafers biological samples or any particle sensitive materials. Clean benches are filtered work stations with uniform airflow that provide product protection. Clean benches and laminar flow hoods utilize state of the art technology to ensure a clean particle free work environment for non hazardous materials.
A clean bench is a laminar flow work cabinet or similar enclosure that provides filtered air across the work surface to protect against contamination. Due to the direction of air flow the sample is protected from the user but the user is not protected from the. Clean benches do not offer personnel protection. Air is drawn through a hepa filter and blown in a very smooth laminar flow towards the user.
Protection is provided by capturing room air passing the air through a hepa filter and directing the filtered air horizontally across the work surface at a constant speed toward the user. Sanding oiling or waxing the wooden surface ensures they remain in good condition. The clean bench or hood is a work area with its own hepa filtered air supply.
